Wear Your Vegetables started out as a dream to make earth and human friendly clothing for our families and friends. We are just a couple of everyday girls trying to turn this dream into a reality. After not being satisfied with the level of environmental responsibility of other clothing lines, we decided why not do something about it? So our crazy journey began! We started by researching traditional dyeing processes and what we found cemented our belief that we had to try to change the way clothing is dyed! Most of the dye houses for a lot of popular clothing companies are found in foreign countries with few to no regulations. Depending on the day of the week and the color being used, the run-off water goes into streams and rivers turning them colors, polluting water sources for people and killing wildlife. We found this very sad and disturbing. Our waste water is so safe that we use it to irrigate our gardens!  You have our promise that we will never use any synthetic dyes, heavy metals or bleaches to dye our 100% Organic cotton.
